Daniel gets a new dog!

Tomorrow is the day that we will learn which special dog will be Daniel's. Needless to say we are all very excited!  There are so many dogs that might be a possible match!

Well, just in the short time that I was trying to write this, Daniel had a big seizure. He has been asleep for about 2 hours and went into a generalized tonic-clonic seizure. He doesn't scare me as much with most of his seizures, but this time he scared me. He was turning from blue to grayish and I thought he might really stop breathing this time. Erick was beside him and I know he was scared. We just talked to him, gave him the medication to stop the seizure and prayed that it worked in time.  It finally stopped and his color got much better. Now he is sleeping again and I hope will not have any more tonight.  I know a lot of parents are going through the same thing as we do everday, but it doesn't make it any easier when it's your child laying there.

So, in essence, we really need our new seizure service dog! Maybe we would have had a few minutes to be prepared for this one when it started. I can pray that our dog will have this ability for Daniel's sake. My hope is to have even just a little amount of warning before a seizure strikes. We have all looked at the pictures of all the dogs in training at 4 Paws for Ability and tried to guess which one might be his! We truly are so excited about this new member of our family.

Stay tuned for the updates. I will be posting stories about our training so you can see what is happening. I will try to post some pictures too!
Thanks for visiting our site.
