Day 8 training

Hi everyone!
Today was a long but very informative day! We practiced one tracking this morning and then I took Daniel and Erick back to the hotel so Daniel could rest today. Alena and I went back to the center to practice more obedience commands. We learned how to command over(where Dove lays over Daniel's legs), and lap(where she puts her head on him), and roll over, and then went over the basic commands again.
Then we got a talk from the Veterinarian on staff and learned about first aid and dog care. There a lot of things to watch out for! I had only recently learned that dogs can't eat grapes (not even a couple) or raisins. They can cause complete kidney failure! Just be careful what the kids leave laying around.
Dove did really well again. She is really bonding with the whole family. I am glad we are all here, and we are learning so much, but we will all be ready to get home on Saturday!
Last night we went to a place called Young's Jersey Dairy! It is not far from the hotel.  They have a real corn field maze, a mini golf game, great restaurant, and wonderful homemade ice cream! We went with another family here and had a great time. We were all tired but needed a mini break!  It is a neat place and I could hardly get Daniel off the big orange tractor!

More training tomorrow! I am sure it will be another full day.
Kim
