Training Day 3

Third day at training for our service dog! Everything went well with the tracking practice this morning! She went wild when she found Daniel! Way to go Dove! More practice, and harnesses and heel practice. Daniel has his own leash now to hold while we hold the other one! He really likes that. Tomorrow is tethering practice and more tracking in the am.
Last night Dove went to sleep with Daniel. Alena and I just came in the room from doing laundry. A moment or two later, Dove cam out from Daniel's room and barked at us. I was sitting at the computer and she walked around me and under the table.  We thought she just needed to go potty, but while Erick had her downstairs, Daniel had a tonic-clonic seizure. Dove got back to the room right after it started, so she did get to see the seizure before it ended and we praised her a whole bunch. We THINK she may have been trying to alert us (not needing to go out) . Now that we have possibly seen something of her behavior we will watch for that too. We had been told that she usually paws at the person or might sniff Daniel very aggressively.  We will keep our eyes open and alert!
We ate lunch at a great little diner downtown called Linda's Restaurant! It looked like a locals place, and we really enjoyed it. Great service with a smile and great food! Will definitely go back.
All in all it has been a great start to a new part of our lives. We are excited about how Dove will be able to help Daniel and our family in the future. Stay tuned for more!
